RcWare SoftPLC is a software package for control of technological processes, typically to be used in HVAC control systems. It consists of following programs:

SoftPLC IDE (Integrated Development Environment) - application editor where inputs and outputs (I/O modules or third party systems) as well as function blocks which determine the application functionality are defined.

In the libraries there are basic digital and analogue blocks, mathematical functions inclusive logarithmic and goniometric functions, PID controllers, time schedulers (binary, multistate and analogue), counters, alarm blocks and special functions for use in HVAC systems (heat recovery, dewpoint, heating curve, average value in time, load shedding, boiler or pump changeover, emergy metering etc.).

For commissioning, there are comm test functions, in the schemas there are online values and selected values can be displayed in a graph which makes tuning of the control loops easy.

The editor contains context help system to describe function block properties inclusive application examples.

SoftPLC runtime - a program to be installed to the process station. It reads the compiled application and controls the process. At the same time, it works as a data server for other parts of the system:

SoftPLC Touchscreen
Application for process data and control elements display. It is the basic HMI for PC-based process stations: it reads actual values, changes setpoints and statuses, edits time schedules, displays and acknowledges alarms etc. The Touchscreen provides several access levels which have different user rights; to enter a higher level, a 4-digit PIN must be entered.

SoftPLC HMI Editor
This is a editor for touchscreen panels, web panels, LCD display menu for MiniPLC, and menu for Windows Media Center.

SoftPLC OPC Server
To integrate data from SoftPLC to SCADA systems. The OPC server may host more SoftPLC runtimes so that data from more SoftPLC or MiniPLC process stations are available at a single OPC server.

SoftPLC Web Panel
Service to enable web aceess to the runtime data. Editing the web pages is easy: the pages are designed in the Touchscreen Editor and exported for web. It is not necessary to design pages in HTML or any other web standard.

The pages are stored in the svgz vector format, values are updated dynamically (no Refresh necessary). The only html page is the index page which may be customized by the engineering company: add company logo, link to Contacts / Manuals page etc.
